MISA Calendar

MISA is a 5-day program that runs Monday through Friday from 9-3:30pm at the MISA office in Oakland, California. Applicants can choose to apply to either a Spring or Summer Cohort both of which offer multiple programming dates.

Spring (April)

THREE spring cohorts to choose from:

  • Cohort A: March 25th-29th, 2024
  • Cohort B: April 1st-5th, 2024
  • Cohort C: April 8th-12th, 2024

In addition to a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Submitting an application to a MISA program does not guarantee an interview from staff. Each cohort receives hundreds of applications and all are reviewed thoroughly by staff.  

Yes! Just make sure you are taking the proper steps and doing so on your application browser. 

No. All MISA cohort follow the same curriculum. 

No, a letter of recommendation is not required to participate in MISA. 

The cost of the program covers lunch & snacks, clinical equipment, certifications, t-shirts as well as writing materials. 

Because we hire staff and purchase equipment and supplies based on our enrollment numbers, cancellations must be done by the dedicated refund date (March 22, 2024)Any requests made prior to that date will be refunded based on the policy outlined below.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected] by the refund date (March 22, 2024). Any requests made prior to this date will receive a full refund to the original form of payment. After that date, any cancellation requests will receive a refund of 60% of the full cost of tuition to the original form of payment. We will provide a 100% credit towards future MISA program use (credits cannot be exchanged for cash and are non-transferable) but cannot guarantee a spot will be available for 2024. You are eligible to rollover until 2025 or request a cohort change which will be honored based on availability.

We reserve the right to make exceptions to these policies on a case-by-case basis. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. 

Individually wrapped lunches are provided to students on Monday and Friday. Students are required to bring lunch on the remaining program dates. In addition, we require that all students bring a reusable water bottle with them daily.

No, transportation is not included in the MISA tuition. However carpooling is an option to all families interested. For students interested in carpooling, the MISA staff will facilitate carpool connections with other members of their cohort.
